Cervus elaphus corsicanus census
The project partners “One Deer Two Islands” Ente Foreste della Sardegna (Ente Forestas de Sardigna) and Parc Naturel Régional de Corse (Parcu di Corsica) made the Sardinian or Corsican Red Deer census in their respective controlled territories. Roaring adult males' counting is the methodology used.
In Sardinia the census has been made by the Ente Foreste della Sardegna staff in the area of Arbus-Montevecchio (2nd September) and Montarbu-Rio Nuxi (5th September), with the help of 40 volunteers.
In Corsica the census has been made by the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse employees in the area of Caccia-Ghjunsani, in the centre of Corsica, Fium’Orbu, Alta Rocca and Dui Sorru, from 4th until 20th September with the help of 50 volunteers and partners (ONCFS,ONF and students).
