Action D2: Periodic control of the reintroduced deers’ health status

During the first year of activity, in the founders’ area, a relevant number of species will be captured with the tele-anesthesia, in order to monitor their health status; biological and serological tests will be taken for the bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases. 

The reintroduced deer will be monitored through health observations; these are going to be effected on the deer that will be transferred. Faecal samples will be collected directly at the capture’s site. It’s necessary to begin the captures during the second year of the project (2013) and keep them going for the whole 2017, for a total of 5 years.On the third, fourth and fifth year since the reintroduction will be realized captures through tele-anesthesia in order to obtain blood samples and other biological material for exams related to bacterial diseases. On the whole, 120 deer will be captured.

The action will have effect on the reintroduced deer’s populations, in the sites of:
