On the 21st February 2014 fifteen species living in the fence of Sa Porticra (Urzulei) were released. They will create (5 females and 10 males) with other specimens coming from the area of the Province of Medio Campidano, the future population of the Supramonte in the Province of Ogliastra.

17 February 2014

On the 21st of February 2014 a herd of deer will be released in the area of the Province of Ogliastra, in the Supramonte. The Red Deer will come back in this area since the 1900s.

Le operazioni sono partite ad Urzulei, nel recinto di ripopolamento dal quale si preleveranno parte dei cervi da rilasciare nella stessa area ogliastrina. Concluse le indagini sanitarie di rito, si procederà al rilascio in natura a partire proprio da Urzulei.

Eseguite verifiche sanitarie indispensabili per garantire la buona riuscita dell'imminente fase di liberazione, che si prevede di concludere nel corso del mese di febbraio 2014: data che segnerà il ritorno del Cervo nell’area del Supramonte costiero. Azioni previste e finanziate dal progetto LIFE+ "un cervo per due isole" con fondi dell'Unione Europea.
