First releases in Corsica

The 21st of march 2014 10 deer were released (3 of them wearing a VHF radiocollar) from the fence of Quenza, in the center of Corsica. Captures began at 7h30 a.m. until 10.30. The release took place about 15.00 after 3,5 hours of road transport and few minutes by helicopter.

It was a very successful action. Journalists, children with their parents and local partners like DREAL,ONCFS,ONF were able to experience the unforgettable emotions of this operation.

A banquet concluded the operation and the participants celebrated the return of the Sardinian or Corsican Red Deer in these beautiful places in Corse.
